Nat Thaipun’s Place at Baba’s Place
Since 2021, Marrickville restaurant Baba’s Place has been the undisputed home of “inner west” food in Sydney. Its menu is a celebration of city’s diverse suburban communities, and weaves together culinary influences from the Mediterranean, Middle East and more. In March, Baba’s Place will become “Nat Thaipun’s Place”, when the Masterchef winner takes over the kitchen for two nights only.
The Melbourne-based chef will serve a fiery multi-course menu for $120, showcasing lesser-seen regional Thai dishes that push beyond the idea of Thai cuisine as simply street food. Through her cooking, Thaipun celebrates her Thai-Australian identity and the connection to both homeland and community, while bringing something new to the table. This collab is a match made in heaven, and not to be missed.
