Colombo Social , social enterprise Plate It Forward’s Sri Lankan restaurant, is bringing back its Mum Cha series. It’s an eight-course set menu lunch experience on the last Saturday of every month, where Shaun Christie-David (Plate It Forward’s founder) is getting in the kitchen with his mum Shiranie Christie-David, and inviting another chef and their ma too.
First up is Masterchef winner Nat Thaipun and her mum Nutsiree. Thaipun’s cooking celebrates her Thai-Australian identity, showcasing lesser-seen regional Thai dishes. The two pairs will be cooking up a midday feast fusing together Thai and Sri Lankan flavours. There’s a cocktail on arrival and free-flowing red and white drops throughout the 90-minute lunch.
There are only 40 tickets to each Mum Cha, bookings essential.
