Whether you’re a champion of cheddar, a burrata buff or an emmental enthusiast, there’ll be a fromage for you at Australia’s biggest cheese festival.

Grate news. After selling out every session in 2019 and taking a short break in 2020, Mould: A Cheese Festival is back for another round. Organisers, Revel (the group behind wine event Pinot Palooza and Nick Haddow (Bruny Island Cheese Co), promise more cheese, more producers and more activities.

Though the full line-up is yet to be announced, there’ll be fromage from across the country at Carriageworks for two days of cheesy goodness. In past years Mould has featured big-cheese producers such as Yarra Valley Dairy, Grandvewe, Section 28, Shaw River, Tolpuddle and Tongola. Expect tastings, conversations and demonstrations, as well as cheese-focused dishes from a range of local cheesemongers.

It’s not all about the fromage, though – a bar stocked with wines, whisky, sake, beer and cider will help you wash down your washed rind.

Sessions run on Friday May 21 from 4.30pm to 8.30pm and Saturday May 22 from 11am to 3pm and 4pm to 8pm. Tickets include all cheese tastings and a wine glass to taste from and take home.
