For the eighth year in a row, CBD venue The Morrison is throwing its popular oyster festival and, as ever, punters will enjoy $1.50 natural oysters between 6pm and 7pm every day of October.
If you prefer your oysters with a little dressing, there’s a range of options to choose from, including kimchi vinaigrette; XO sauce; horseradish crème fraîche; Tanqueray gin and tonic; and the Million Dollar Oyster, topped with snow-crab meat, Avruga caviar and chives.
The salty bivalves make a cameo on a slew of other menu items, too, such as the carpetbag (oyster-stuffed) steak, oyster carbonara, and a fried-chicken po’ boy with oyster mayo.
On weekends, visit for oysters and bottomless bubbles. Get a dozen oysters and unlimited Australian sparkling wine for two hours ($55), or upgrade to GH Mumm champagne ($155).
