Forty studios, gallery spaces, artist hubs and arts-and-craft stores are taking part in Creative Trails, an open house-style event, which lets you explore the inner-west’s creative heart.
Download a map and take a self-guided tour through the Midjuburi Precinct – encompassing Marrickville, Sydenham, Tempe, St Peters, Dulwich Hill and Lewisham – or book a guided behind-the-scenes tour, or workshop.
See how Mud Australia crafts its handmade porcelain pieces at its Marrickville warehouse, meet the contemporary jewellery-makers at SquarePeg Studios, and watch the Join the Dots crew live paint a new mural at the gateway to Marrickville. A new artwork Slow yel4 will also be unveiled on Mud's outside wall at 1.30pm on Saturday, plus there'll be a free barbeque.
There are also ceramic, glass-blowing, welding, felt, silk-colouring workshops and more, including a chance to make a bespoke pair of specs with designer Chris Savage.
