Messina Eats x Hoy Pinoy
Messina Eats is back after a long hiatus, reviving its excellent team-up with Filipino street food market vendor Hoy Pinoy, flying in from Melbourne.
The Rosebery HQ is being transformed into an outdoor barbeque fiesta, with rolled lechon belly charcoal roast on Friday and a full lechon – the whole pig – spit roasted on Saturday. Both come with rice, spiced vinegar and a cucumber salad. Plus, fries topped with grilled adobo eggplant; chicken lumpia (spring rolls) topped with bagnet (crispy pork); chicken skewers in a soy glaze; pork belly skewers glazed with banana ketchup; and grilled corn kernels with coconut and a chilli crumb.
Not to be outdone, Messina is matching the Filipino flavours with Milo-Milo, its take on the traditional halo-halo with layers of malt flan, chocolate malt crumble, Jersey milk gelato, chocolate malt ice and chocolate malt powder. There's also a drink of buko pandan, or sweetened coconut milk with pandan jellies, and lemongrass iced tea with orange and mint.
From 12pm to late.
