An art gallery might not be the obvious choice for Friday night drinks, but the MCA is the place to be all Fridays this summer.
Every week the museum is opening its doors til late, with free access through the art exhibitions after hours as well as performances by musicians, artists and poets.
Visit major exhibitions on now, such as Moon in a Dew Drop by Australian-Chinese artist Lindy Lee; Connected, which features the gallery's most significant recent acquisitons; and Anywhere but Here, a collection of works from artists who have participated in Primavera.
There are three durational music performances presented by the MCA and Dualplover this February, with talented musicians performing three hours of live improvisations in the intimate surroundings of the MCA Creative Studios.
There'll also be drinks on the rooftop terrace, with one of the best views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge you can find. Some of the best bars in The Rocks have jumped on board, with Chamomile Martinis and Eucalyptus Gimlets from Maybe Sammy all February.
The popular Sundown Sketch Club is back this year, as well as late-night shopping at the MCA Store.
And Sounds on the Terrace is back for another year, this time with monthly live music gigs programmed by FBi Radio. In March, bop to beats from Maina Doe and DJ Carolina Gasolina while sipping whiskey cocktails from The Doss House.
From 5pm to 9pm every Friday.
