Maybe Sammy on Harrington Street in The Rocks opened in January 2019. Just nine months later it was crowned Australia’s best bar in the annual World’s 50 Best Bars list. So, it seems fitting it’s the site of the closing party for the World Class Cocktail Festival.
To honour the night, and celebrate a new Australian Bartender of the year, the team at Maybe Sammy’s are taking a little inspiration from Spain for a fiesta fit for a finale.
The hero of the bar will be cocktails made with Tanqueray No. TEN and Tanqueray Sevilla ($15), (gin made with Sevilla orange essences), paired with cheese and meat plates care of LP’s Quality Meats. Other cocktails will include ‘Till You Hear The Bell” (Don Julio Blanco tequila, red bell pepper, dry vermouth, sandalwood, lemon), “All of You” (Cape Mentelle, homemade kombucha, Tanqueray No. TEN gin, peach), “As I Will Learn” (Johnnie Walker Green Label whisky, chocolate, miso, macchia vermouth) and “Once in a Lifetime: (Ketel One Vodka, Rhubi mistelle, toasted coconut, coconut water, aromatic bubble). These will be $22 to $23.
There’s also the playlist to match, with live music and DJs rounding out the night.
