Spending a summer afternoon sipping a martini by the sea sounds pretty damn good.
Icebergs Dining Room and Bar have partnered with Tanqueray No. Ten to create the mobile Martini Trolley, an immersive experienced in which your martini is made and swirled right at your table.
A martini swirled by hand (as opposed to in a cocktail shaker) is a ritual specific to Italy and Spain, with the technique allowing bartenders to create the perfect serve. How does it work? The technique allows you to control the effect the ice cubes have on the temperature and balance of the martini. The ‘pinch hold’ shape of the glassware removes another variable: the temperature of the bartender’s hand.
The trolley will be wheeled directly to your table and cocktails will be mixed in a hand-blown glass gallone designed by Sydney-based glass artist, Brian Hirst.
The Tanqueray No. Ten martini perfectly highlights the tasting notes of the renowned spirit: grapefruit, orange, zesty lime, and fresh chamomile flowers, which combine to create a balanced gin with a smooth finish.
