Martin Place Christmas Tree and Choirs

Thu 25th November, 2021 – Sat 1st January, 2022
6:00pm – 12:00am
Martin Place, Sydney
A holiday season celebration in the heart of Sydney.

The tallest Christmas tree in NSW is back in Martin Place this Christmas.

Decorated with more than 110,000 LED lights and 330 specially created glossy baubles, the Martin Place tree’s 800 branches are dressed with 15,000 flowers representing nine different kinds of Australian blossoms.

Capped by a 3.4-metre colour-changing star, it’s a shimmering spectacle of colours and illuminated ornaments. The light show is on every 15 minutes from 7pm to midnight.

If that’s not dizzying enough, Martin Place will also be home to over four thousand warm white icicle fairy lights strung along six strings of lights spanning the plaza, each hosting a large star.

As you soak in the spectacle, enjoy the holiday sounds of a Christmas choir, with performances from Sydney’s top choruses held under the tree every evening from 6pm in the lead up to Christmas.

The tree is there from Thursday November 25 to Saturday January 1, while the choirs will be performing from Wednesday December 1 to Christmas Eve Friday December 24. No bookings required – just turn up and gaze.
