Designer Tom Skeehan is running a chopstick-making and meditation class at Koskela. The class is part of the Fix and Make workshop series developed by Hotel Hotel, Canberra.
Each workshop is focused around making objects in a practical, experimental and philosophical way to question our consumption of and relationship to everyday items.
Making as Meditation allows participants to hand make their own chopsticks out of salvaged wood. The idea is that making objects can be a form of meditation.
The workshop will be accompanied by Japanese sencha green tea and plates of Japanese pickles for chopstick testing. From 9.30am–12.30pm.
