Make a Black Dragon Egg at Koi Dessert Bar
In light of the continuing COVID-19 situation, Mastercard has temporarily paused the availability of its in-person Priceless Experiences.
Those with a sweet tooth will already be familiar with Sydney’s Koi Dessert Bar in Chippendale. It’s a family affair, with mum Ike Malada and the Poernomo brothers Ronald, Arnold and Reynold all involved (Koi is an acronym for Kids of Ike). Reynold – who graduated from the school of Masterchef and is known for dramatic desserts, such as his Moss creation – is synonymous with artistic magic on a plate.
Now’s your chance to go behind the scenes and master a fantasy-inspired Black Dragon Egg at Koi Dessert Kitchen in Ryde.
The class will take die-hard dragon fans through the meticulous process of creating the dessert, which involves activated charcoal filled with black-sesame mousse, tart curd from Japanese citrus yuzu and sweet mango. Reynold Poernomo won’t be there, but Koi’s expert staff will guide you through a dessert worth bending the knee for.
There are only two opportunities, with 10 spots available in each. The master class will run for four hours from 6pm and bookings must be made at least three days in advance.
The masterclass is curated specifically for the Mastercard Priceless Cities program and is exclusively for Mastercard cardholders.
