If you aren’t in love, you’re sure to find something you love at DEA. It's so called because everything in store should please the “delicate eye area”, and stock falls somewhere on the spectrum between practical, kitschy and cool.
From 6pm–8pm on Valentine’s Day, DEA are also offering up the perfect start to your night with its first-ever Valentine’s event. Don’t feel you have to bring a date though, this one’s for everyone.
New artwork Works on Paper by Neil “Pipe” McCaan will be showcased on the night and on sale to take home, with works ranging in price from $69–$1650, all of it framed. McCaan will also be giving away six drawings to six lucky valentines on the night.
McCaan has previously contributed artwork to the coffee bags used by Single O coffee roasters for its Random Acts of Art series. His work with Sydney City Council can also be found at at 71–79 Macquarie Street’s construction hoardings, entitled Real Myth, the work in progress is inspired by Hieronymus Bosch and depicts an off-beat party scene.
Outside of art, there will be organic fried chicken on offer; a bespoke cocktail collaboration, “summer blush”, between Taste Kaleidoscope and 23rd Street Distillery; Ciccone & Sons will be bringing gelato pops, and one lucky attendee will be taking home a $50 drink voucher for The Bearded Tit.
