Koi Dessert Pop-Up at Mastery by Crown Group

Dessert master Reynold Poernomo brings his colourful creations to Waterloo for a limited time.

We last saw dessert prodigy Reynold Poernomo on our screens in the latest season of Masterchef. But since he left the show (after placing third) in July he’s been busy running his business, Koi Dessert Bar, which has outposts in Chippendale and Ryde. Now he’s bringing his aesthetically pleasing (and delicious) desserts to Waterloo for a limited time.

Koi is popping up in the Mastery by Crown Group display suite in Waterloo until the end of September. Expect all of Poernomo’s most popular desserts, including the Harry Potter-inspired Snitch; the delicate White Noise (whipped coconut ganache, strawberry-gum jelly, yoghurt gel, jasmine joconde and strawberry pebbles); and the Bali Sunrise (coconut mousse, pandan gel, caramelised white chocolate, coconut, palm-sugar sand and fruit salsa).

The pop-up is also a cake collection point – handy if you live in the area and don’t want to travel to Chippendale.

Open Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 6pm.
