Khalid at Sydney Opera House
No longer young, dumb and broke, the multi-platinum selling Khalid is riding high on international success. He’s gearing up to share his third album, Sincere, on August 2 – which includes previously released singles Adore U and Please Don't Fall In Love With Me – and in an unexpected move the Grammy-nominated artist is flying to Sydney to share the album in full at two exclusive shows at Sydney Opera House.
On August 5 and 6, Khalid will perform Sincere in full in a special in-the-round show in the Concert Hall. The latest release has been called a “return to form” for the 26-year-old musician whose soulful vocals are often about what it feels like to grow up.
Khalid’s debut album American Teen was released in 2017 when he was fresh out of high school. He’s since had six Grammy Award nominations, won six Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. And he was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2019.
The relatively intimate show (2500 seats compared to his 30,000 concert in his last Sydney appearance) has been called a “once-in-a-lifetime moment” by Sydney Opera House head of contemporary music Ben Marshall.
General tickets are on sale from midday on Thursday July 25.
