To celebrate five years of festivities, the Italian Wine and Food Festival will take place in a new venue: The Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve.

Everything that's good about eating and drinking in Italy will come together in one place, from delicious street-style, pizza, to fresh pasta by expert Italian cooks. Sip on a chilled glass of pinot grigio while the kids eat a cheesy serving of spaghetti bolognese.

Sydney's best Italian chefs are turning out to serve the food they love. You can sample food made by Giovanni Pilu (Pilu at Freshwater) Lucio Galletto (Lucio's) Stefano Manfredi (PizzAperta) and Richard Ptacnik (Otto Ristorante) just to name a few.

Once you've eaten it's time to shop your way through the marketplace where you can pick up Italian produce. We're talking cheese, pasta, bread, coffee beans, truffle olive oil and lots of gelato.

More than 200 Italian wines, all sorted by region, with a focus on Italian-centric Aussie wines, will be available. You can also take an Italian wine masterclass, where you'll learn more about different grape varieties and the regions they're from.

Pull up a seat at the Barolo Bar to learn about one of Italy's finest reds. If you're into prosecco-like wines the Franciacorta Bar is for you. With experienced sommeliers offering vertical (chronological) tasting sessions, this is a chance to grow your knowledge of fine Italian wines while hanging out with like-minded wine enthusiasts.

There will also be coffee served by Espresso di Manfredi's baristas, Moretti beer on tap, and an authentic Festival Bar serving Negronis and Venetian Spritz all day long.
