Back for a second year, the Inner West Film Fest is bringing buzzy films and film-focused events to Dendy Newtown, Palace Norton Street, Steel Park in Marrickville and other pop-up locations around the inner west.

Screenings include upcoming international films like road-trip drama The Sweet East, starring The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri and Saltburn’s Jacob Elordi. There’s black-and-white film Fremont – a Sundance and SXSW favourite – with a cameo from Jeremy Allen White (The Bear). Plus, Bottoms and Shiva Baby standout Rachel Sennott as an aspiring stand-up comic with PTSD in I Used To Be Funny.

Local films include documentary Fight To Live, about boxing champ “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings, and Sahela, set in Parramatta, starring Antonio Aakeel (Slow Horses) and executive produced by Dev Patel (Monkey Man).

The 11-day festival includes a one-off film trivia night at Marrickville Tennis Club on Tuesday April 16, and a free outdoor screening of classic Napoleon Dynamite at Marrickville’s Steel Park on Friday April 12.

Tickets are $24, or $19 concession. Flexipasses start from $100 for five screenings.
