Hitchcock Retrospective

Sun 4th August, 2019 – Sun 31st May, 2020
Ritz Cinema
45 St Pauls Street, Randwick
The Ritz is screening almost all of the director's films, from early silent features to Hollywood classics.

For the next 10 months, Randwick’s iconic Ritz Cinema will be celebrating the "Master of Suspense", Alfred Hitchcock, with a comprehensive retrospective of his films, restored for the big screen.

Almost all of the auteur’s catalogue will be screened chronologically, starting with his early silent features from the mid-1920s, and spanning his prolific years in Hollywood.

Psycho (1960), The Birds (1963), North by Northwest (1959), Rear Window (1954) and Vertigo (1958) are all on the bill alongside lesser-known films.

To begin the season on Sunday August 4, film composer Andrew Scott (Sydney Conservatorium of Music) will accompany The Pleasure Garden (1925) with a lives score, and Guy Gross (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) will do the same for Easy Virtue (1928) on Sunday September 1.
