Hiccup at the Bowlo
Hiccup, a new creative collective formed to engage Sydneysiders in the fight against climate change and battle feelings of hopelessness, will be throwing a completely sustainable live art party on August 3, featuring a line-up of eco-conscious artists and music.
The experience will feature artwork and performances created exclusively with borrowed, repurposed and recycled materials. Creative re-use centre Reverse Garbage will donate materials to be used by 11 artists, including performance artist Radha La Bia and multidisciplinary artist Anna Mould.
A brigade of locals will have music covered, with Lorna Clarkson (Down Low Disco on 2ser), Eddy Diamond (Mornings on FBi Radio, Purple Sneakers DJs, Sittin’ Pretty) and Rydeen (Spin the Bottle on FBi Radio) on the decks. Live acts include GLO and Roy Batty Jr.
The event will be held at The Marrickville Bowling Club, which will be eschewing single-use plastic and offsetting its carbon emissions for the event. All proceeds from tickets will go towards Friends of the Earth Australia, which works for an environmentally sustainable future.
