Head On Photo Festival 2024
Head On Photo Festival has been bringing stunning, thought-provoking photography to Sydney’s streets since 2004. This year’s exhibition is split across four locations: Bondi Beach promenade, Bondi Pavilion Gallery, Paddington Reservoir Gardens and University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Photographers from all over the world submit landscape and portrait photography into Head On’s competition. The result is a broad and intriguing mix of global events and perspectives by both emerging and professional photographers.
Visitors to Bondi Beach will see 40 landscape images stretched over one kilometre of the promenade, plus portraits displayed indoors at Bondi Pavilion Gallery. In Paddington, there are exhibitions themed along the lines of street art, tourism and architecture. And at UTS, there is a multi-media exhibition called Rwanda 30+ Bearing Witness to Genocide.
“These photographs tap into the rich tapestry of human experience, whether that’s from conflict zones, life in rural towns, quirky stories as well as major issues faced by countries around the world,” says festival director Moshe Rosenzveig OAM.
