Hamilton $10 Tickets Digital Lottery
Lin-Manuel Miranda's hugely popular musical Hamilton is set to open in Sydney on March 17 – and to make tickets more accessible, a digital lottery has been launched with a select number of $10 tickets for each performance.
To enter, wannabe audience members need to download the Todaytix app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Punters will have from each Friday at 12.01am (beginning March 5) to 1pm the following Thursday to enter the draw via the app for the chance to purchase two $10 tickets for the following week's shows. Winners will be notified via email or mobile push notification from 1pm to 4pm on Thursdays, and will have one hour to claim and pay for their tickets before they are offered to another entrant.
Hamilton premiered off-Broadway in 2015, gaining critical acclaim – including 16 Tony nominations – for using a combination of hip-hop, R&B, jazz and Broadway musical styles to tell the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton.
The Sydney iteration of the show will see Miranda’s music and lyrics, Thomas Kail’s direction, Andy Blankenbuehler’s choreography and Alex Lacamoire’s orchestration, but with an all-Aussie cast led by Jason Arrow as Hamilton, with Lyndon Watts in the role of Aaron Burr, Chloe Zuel as Eliza Hamilton, Akina Edmonds as Angelica Schuyler and Matu Ngaropo as George Washington.
