There’s a polished, cinematic glamour that feels immediately familiar at Melbourne's Gimlet.
The elegant dining room recalls the grand hotels of London and New York and is the latest by prolific restaurateur Andrew McConnell (Marion, Cumulus Inc, Cutler & Co, the Builder's Arms, Supernormal).
McConnell will transport his cocktail bar and dining room to Bondi's Icebergs restaurant for one night only. He'll be there along with head chef Allan Doert Eccles and bar manager Cameron Parish preparing a menu of snacks and cocktails to reflect an evening at Gimlet. Food includes fried gnocchi; oysters; a yellow fin-tuna sandwich with salted onion and pickled samphire; Luxemberg potatoes with smoked trout roe; and baked valrhona chocolate.
There are two sessions: 6pm to 7.30pm and 8pm to 9.30pm (1.5 hr sittings). Find more details here.
