Gaffa Unlocked at Gaffa Gallery

Sat 21st March, 2015
Gaffa Gallery
281 Clarence Street, Sydney

As part of the Spectrum Now festival, Gaffa Gallery will open its doors for a day of music, installations, artist talks, workshops and open studios.

To start the day, Julie Lewsey from The Woven Trail – which sells hand-crafted pieces from Africa – will give a talk about working with artisans in Africa, and providing income through selling single-origin design aesthetics.

Following the talks, guests will be invited upstairs to the Jewellery Studio Workshops – one of the largest in the country and home to more than 10 resident jewellers. Guests will see an artist's practice and will be able to buy handcrafted pieces straight from the bench.

There will also be a pop-up store selling The Woven Trail products; gorgeous pieces from Zimbabwean artisans, helping to boost micro businesses.

The talks and events will begin at 3pm.
