Fun on the Hill – Australia vs. New Zealand Women’s Cricket
As evening descends on North Sydney Oval on Saturday September 29, the first match of the Commonwealth Bank Women’s International Series will kick off with the Australian Women’s Cricket Team taking on New Zealand under lights. But beyond the boundary, it’s just not cricket.
Some of the city’s favourite food and drink names will gather for their own – albeit, gastronomic – showdown. Black Star Pastry will be there with its range of cakes and treats, Gelato Messina will offer ice-cream, and Surry Hills’ South-American-inspired Porteño Restaurant, and Neutral Bay’s SoCal will tout select menu items. Chow down alongside “drinks on the hill” thanks to the Chandon Garden Bar.
For those with kids in tow, children under fifteen get in for free. There’s also activities specially designed to seduce their short attention spans, including a special Lego area, as well as activities such as face painting, cricket-related competitions and events, giveaways, and the opportunity for player autographs after the match.
Gates open at 6pm. Match begins at 7.10pm.
*At match price. $2.95 per transaction ticket agency fee applies to purchases elsewhere. Kids 15 years and under require a valid match ticket booked with yours.
