Book Now: Watch The Isle of Dogs With Your Dog

Wed 18th July, 2018
79 Stanley Street Darlinghurst NSW 2010
A free screening of the film in a Wes Anderson inspired bar.

Stanley's is screening Wes Anderson's stop-motion-animation film the Isle of Dogs for free and you can bring your dog.

The Wes Anderson inspired bar by Andy Penney (The Anchor) will screen the film in its outdoor heated courtyard with inspired cocktails and doggie treats on offer. Complimentary sushi platters will do the rounds, along with doggie treats and prizes to keep your pooch happy. A special cocktail menu for the event has been created and cocktails like the Pink Chihuahua, a smooth almond take of the traditional margarita, made with Calle 23 tequila, lime, lemon, grenadine, and orgeat will also come with an Isle of Dog figurine (while stocks last).

The film is set in a dystopian-future Japan and follows 12-year-old Atari Kobayashi as he adventures to Trash Island (a remote island when dogs have been quarantined due to "canine flu") in search of his dog, Spots. The screening is celebrating the release of Isle of Dogs on Blu-ray, DVD & Digital.

Stanley's is a fitting scene for the screening as the decor pays homage to the film's director. "The entrance resembles the front of the Grand Budapest Hotel, the back bar is reminiscent of the cross-section of the Belafonte boat from The Life Aquatic," describes Penney, "There are paw prints on the floor as we are dog-friendly. We love dogs, as does Wes."

If you miss the free screening, you can still enjoy the themed cocktails with Isle of Dog figurine for two weeks from July 15.

Stanley's will host a dog-friendly free screening of Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs on Wednesday, July 18 from 7 pm.
