Movies by the Boulevard
Pop down to Cathy Freeman Park with your picnic rug, or perhaps a low chair, for a free outdoor cinema and entertainment throughout January.
This year's line-up includes Wonder Woman, Beauty and the Beast and Despicable Me, and free kids activities on selected nights. For the older kids, there will also be sporting activities and coaching clinics run by the Sydney Thunder.
Those too knackered to plan ahead can buy food and drinks on the night, but will also have access to nearby cafes, bars and restaurants.
On Australia Day, an extended program from 2pm will include carnival rides, roving musicians, face-painting, sports clinics, food stalls and a fireworks display at 8.30pm, followed by a special presentation of the award-winning Australian film, Lion.
On January 12 and 21, the Project Futures charity will also be selling merchandise and fairy floss for a gold coin donation, with proceeds assisting women and children affected by human trafficking, slavery and sexual exploitation in Australia and Cambodia.
