Flour Mill Markets
A new farmers market has arrived in the inner-west suburb of Summer Hill. Once a fortnight, you'll find it in forecourt of the heritage-listed Mungo Scott building, which was an operating flour mill until 2009, and is the centrepiece of a new precinct fittingly called the Flour Mill.
Brought to us by NSW Bespoke Markets (the team behind the Erskineville Farmers Market), the emphasis is on sustainably produced food. Expect organic fruit and veg from Hartley Harvest; fromage from the Grate Cheese Co; fresh loaves and baked goods from Brickfields; oysters, prawns and fish from Fishtastic; and French fare from Pastries de Paris.
Punters can stay caffeinated courtesy of Hugo’s Coffee Cartel and take home fresh flowers, smallgoods and pottery from other stalls.
The market is plastic free. Takeaway coffees are served in biodegradable cups and there is a discount for those who bring their own reusable cups.
The market runs every second Sunday from 9am to 1pm.
