Fabbrica Bread Shop
A whole host of Sydney restaurants and cafes have spun themselves into bakeries for lockdown. The latest? CBD deli and pasta shop Fabbrica. Every Saturday its house baker Aniruddha Bhosekar is firing up the oven and making a bunch of sweets and savouries to take away.
For savouries, think house-made sausage rolls with brown sauce; prosciutto cotto (cooked prosciutto) and provolone tart; porchetta and gravy panino; and Oomite scrolls. Sweet tooths will be sated with sfogliatelle (filled with vanilla custard or ricotta and semolina); chocolate or custard bombolini; cinnamon buns; a range of a tarts – including strawberry and mascarpone, and coffee and wattleseed; and dark-chocolate cake.
Plus, get fresh-baked bread: sourdough loaves, focaccia with a range of toppings (including tomato and anchovy, rosemary and pink salt, and chilli honey with black sesame); and fougasse.
While you're there, we strongly recommend picking up a bottle of natural wine, or perhaps a pasta pack or maybe some cheese to load up slice of your newly bought sourdough.
From 11am–4pm (or until sold out).
