Electric Fields With the Sydney Symphony Orchestra
Our hopes were dashed earlier this year when Electric Fields didn’t make it to the grand final at Eurovision. But the Adelaide-based duo did make history as the first performers in the competition’s history to include Aboriginal language.
The band has been incorporating Yankunytjatjara language into its songs since they launched in 2015. Singer Zaachariaha Fielding and keyboardist and producer Michael Ross make soulful pop and electronica that’s unlike anything else in Australia right now. Though they’ve performed in Sydney recently at Vivid, this performance will be a chance to hear their music reimagined for an orchestra, such as songs One Mikali (One Blood) and Catastrophe.
It’s a collaboration between composer Alex Turley (who’s worked with Genesis Owusu and Ngaiire) the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Electric Fields.
Tickets are on sale from July 25.
