East Village Winter Garden
The chill has set in, the heaters are cranked up and we’re only wearing warm, fluffy sweaters. That’s right, winter is here.
And while it might be tempting to stay inside and avoid the cold, East Village Sydney in Darlinghurst wants you to step outside and enjoy the season.
The pub is transforming its rooftop into a winter wonderland, with thousands of fairy lights strung up against the night sky, moody pink lighting and faux fur to amp up the cosiness. And the heaters will be on full blast, too.
The offering is inspired by the Christmas markets of Europe, with dishes like currywurst and German bratwurst, chicken liver parfait with toasted brioche fingers, pickled onion rounds and pears and figs in a spiced red wine reduction for dessert. There’s also an alcohol-spiked cheese fondue set for two, with a selection of cheeses, pickled vegetables, cured meats and breads for dipping.
To drink, warm up with a spiced mulled cider, a traditional gluhwein or mulled wine made with Barossa meads, and winter cocktails like Cinnamon Toasty shots and an Alpine Sour worth rugging up for.
