East Village Gourmet Food Festival
The second annual East Village Gourmet Food Festival will return to Joynton Park in the Green Square Precinct on Saturday October 5. As part of The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Month, the festival hopes to be a hub for locals to share a meal in a vibrant outdoor setting while meeting the faces behind some of Sydney’s best food.
Renowned Sydney restaurants, cafes, bars and caterers will serve up delicious food and drinks throughout the day, including stalls by Salt Meats Cheese, Dan the Man Cooking, East Ocean Restaurant and Foley Lane.
A mix of relaxed fare and tasting-style dishes can be expected, including a selection of dim sum and peking duck pancakes from East Ocean Restaurant, and mushroom, macadamia and goat curd stuffed piquillo peppers from Foley Lane.
The evening event will feature The Long Dinner, a long communal table banquet meal ‘under the stars’ by Sydney institution, Longrain. “We’ll be serving our tasty modern Thai cuisine, including our signature betel lead with smoked trout, mint, peanut and chilli,” says Longrain owner Sam Christie.
East Village Gourmet Food Festival will be open from 11am to 10pm, and The Long Dinner will begin at 7pm.
