Discounted Drinks at Sydney Bars
In 2018, international celebrity chef Marco Pierre White co-founded [EatClub], an app that offers last-minute meal deals to entice customers through the door, filling up empty tables at off-peak hours with the lure of discounted prices (up to 50 per cent off).
“People only have so much money. Sometimes you might say, ‘Actually, let’s not go out for dinner tonight, let’s buy that new TV instead’. With these deals [through the app], they can do both,” he told Broadsheet at the time.
Nearly six years later, EatClub’s got 500-plus NSW restaurants on the platform, including China Diner, Mille Vini, Olio and Gami Chicken & Beer. And now it’s expanded its offering to include discounts and drink specials at bars and clubs, too.
And heaps of nighttime venues have signed up to EatClub since the new feature. Among them: Brix Distillers in Surry Hills; Bondi Liquor Co, Bar Copo and Curly Lewis in Bondi; Rosie Campbell’s in the CBD; The Lord Gladstone in Chippendale; and plenty more.
Here’s how it works: venues (now including bars and clubs) can push exclusive offers through the EatClub app, you can choose to redeem one then head into the venue, eat and drink as normal, then pay through the app to get your discounted bill – up to 50 per cent off.
