Dinosaur Valley at Scenic World
While a real-life Jurassic Park is still science-fiction worlds away, Katoomba attraction Scenic World has its own take on a dinosaur theme park.
The popular Dinosaur Valley is back for a third outing, with dozens of dinosaur sculptures scattered around its Scenic Walkway in the Blue Mountains. Take the world’s steepest railway down into the transformed rainforest, then explore it on foot to get up close and personal with models of the prehistoric creatures.
There’s a T-rex in the main plaza, as well as an open-air fossil museum. And a life-sized fukuiraptor puppet is the star of Raptor Tales, a 20-minute theatrical puppet performance by visual and physical theatre company Erth.
Of course, Scenic World’s 270-metre-high Skyway and Cableway cable cars (both with views of some of the Blue Mountains’ most popular attractions) are both running as normal.
