Dine Out: Attenzione x Mimi Wong

Attenzione ’s yolk-yellow Redfern dining room is always a winner for pasta and wine, plus a line-up of snacks from chef Toby Stansfield. But for one night only, especially for the debut Dine Out festival, Masterchef alum (and Lee Kum Kee ambassador) Mimi Wong is joining him in the kitchen.

Expect a five-course feast that delivers Wong’s inventive riffs on classic Cantonese flavours. Start with a char siu butter pineapple pull-apart, then get into snacky skewers where king oyster mushrooms meet persimmons. There’ll be golden, fried brussels sprouts and Szechuan sour fish agnolotti swimming in a punchy pork broth with pickled mustard greens. Slurp fried longevity noodles with dan dan mussels, and get into plenty of sides.

To finish? Tonka bean custard, this time saucing up Wong’s adzuki bean tart. Plus, “just a little fruit”.

It’s a special one, Sydney. Nab a seat at one of two sittings, 6pm and 8pm. Wine and non-alc pairings available on the night. Dietaries can be accommodated for with notice.
