Dine Out: Chuski and Chakna Menu

Social enterprise Plate It Forward is behind Colombo Social, Kabul Social and Kyiv Social. Its fourth restaurant, Kolkata Social, got a huge shot in the arm last year with the appointment of former Raja and Firedoor chef Ahana Dutt, who’s brought her Bengali heritage to the kitchen.

For Broadsheet’s second Dine Out Festival, she’s putting on a special menu exploring India’s dive bar culture. The team is swapping traditional homestyle cooking for snacky, moreish dishes made to go with a cocktail. Bookings are recommended but not essential.

Expect Indian and Chinese-influenced takes on chicken wings, tuna tartare, fish fingers and more. Accompanying these are a handful of cocktails, such as a Kolkata Mojito and a Rooibos Tea Fizz. The four-night menu is à la carte, with snacks from $12 and cocktails from $25.
