Fitzroy’s Carnation Canteen espouses the kind of back-to-basics cooking that takes serious talent to nail. Chef-owner Audrey Shaw has it in spades. For the first time, as part of Broadsheet’s Dine Out festival, she’ll bring her produce-led approach to the Harbour City for a one-off dinner at Clarence and V.
Dubbed Canteen Clarence, the pairing is a no-brainer. Clarence and V’s Stella Roditis shares a kindred approach to seasonal cooking, and the two chefs will serve a Mediterranean-inspired set menu with small plates, mains and dessert included in the $165 price tag.
Given Clarence and V’s intimate size and open kitchen, you’ll see Shaw and Roditis right in their element – but it also means this is an extremely rare ticket. You know what to do.
