Dine Out: Cinnamon Scroll French Toast

Since it opened in July 2025, people have been queuing (quite literally) around the block for hours to pick up scrolls from Laetitia Loefti’s micro-bakery, Sundays Bondi. The scrolls at Sundays are light and airy, almost like pancakes. So, it makes sense that when it came time to put together a special for Broadsheet’s Dine Out festival, Loefti looked to another breakfast classic: French toast.

The Sundays’ take on French toast stacks two cinnamon scrolls and layers them with pistachio cream. The scrolls are then shallow-fried and dusted with cinnamon sugar to be served hot. The scrolls are topped with a knob of Pepe Saya butter, maple syrup, and crushed pistachios.

The pistachio specials are always among the most sought-after at Sundays – so we suspect these scrolls will sell out quickly. The cinnamon scroll French toast is strictly limited, only available on Thursday and Friday during Dine Out.
