Chef Hugh Piper from Orange’s Hey Rosey will pop up at Newtown’s favourite speakeasy this winter. Drop in for signature Hey Rosey snacks, paired with Renzaglia wines from the Central West.

Newtown speakeasy Earl’s Juke Joint is one of the best places in Sydney for a stiff classic. A lesser-known fact: it’s got a kitchen and it’s not afraid to use it.

For this year’s Dine Out festival, chef Hugh Piper of Hey Rosey in Orange will pop up at Earl’s, showcasing signature snacks from his outstanding 20-seat wine bar, along with some seasonal gems highlighting local produce from Orange and the surrounding regions. Think salt-baked purple pride potatoes served with whipped quark and salmon roe; anchovy toasts with pickled chilli and “Café de Rosey” butter; and a hazelnut mortadella sandwich.

Also pouring on the night are cool-climate drops by Renzaglia Wines from the Wambuul Valley in NSW. Another fun fact about Earl’s: third-generation winemaker Sam Renzaglia and Hugh Piper are both good friends of the bar. Plus, many of its long-serving staff hail from the Central West. If you’ve got a soft spot for the region, too, this event is not to be missed.

No bookings – walk-ins only.
