Darling Square Library Launch

Sat 9th November, 2019
Darling Square Library
Levels 1 and 2, The Exchange, 1 Little Pier Street, Haymarket NSW 2000
The City of Sydney's latest library is opening in grand fashion with free coffee, free gelato and a visit from the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Haymarket's high-tech Darling Square Library officially opens this weekend in the wood-wrapped Exchange Building. It has more than 30,000 items to borrow (including old-school gaming consoles), an Ideas Lab and 3D printers.

To mark the launch the library is throwing a party. Expect free coffee and gelato and a visit from the Very Hungry Caterpillar. And in news that will make any quiet-loving librarian's hair curl, a DJ will be there too.

Visitors can learn about new workshops the library will run, including 3D printing, robotics and electronics, and see the library's laser-cutter in action.

From 11am to 1pm.
