Dance, Music and Art at The Big Bounce
Coming this Saturday to the PACT Centre for Emerging Artists is The Big Bounce, an immersive showcase of dance, music and visual art. Curated by award-winning dancer and choreographer Matt Cornell, this interactive mini-festival is aimed at challenging the traditional relationship between the artist and the audience.
The Big Bounce will include dance workshops (purely grooves, not choreography) with Vanessa Marian, the founder of Sydney-based dance studio, Groove Therapy. The event will also include performances by contemporary dancer Angela Goh and street dancer Adam Warburton, as well as a highly anticipated DJ set by Brisbane born Sezzo Snot.
As you move through the PACT building you’ll come across a range of immersive installations, such as Salazar Quas’ collage work on body iconography. Also on display is Emma Fishwick’s topographic drawings based on her contemporary dance piece microLandscapes. Or if you’re interested in video art you might be intrigued by Jake Kuzman’s video installation exploring the pursuit of dancing in a foreign environment.
The Big Bounce will be the first of three PACT Salons presented across 2017, supported by the City of Sydney and Arts NSW.
6pm-10pm.
