From Covid to Canvas: A Virtual Tour With Verushka Darling

Wed 20th May, 2020
Get new perspectives on old art with a socially distanced gallery tour.

While Sydney’s galleries and museums are currently off-limits, a number of them have been scheduling virtual tours and programs to keep our culture game strong. The latest real-life experience to go online is From Covid to Canvas by iconic Sydney drag queen Verushka Darling – an event in the spirit of her Queer Art After Hours tours of the Art Gallery of NSW, which she has hosted in honour of Mardi Gras the past four years.

Tune in to YouTube or Facebook Live as Darling takes audiences through the Grand Courts (housing European art from the Renaissance to Impressionism, and Australian art from colonialism to the end of the 19th century) and Modern Australian galleries. As anyone who has joined one of her tours or lectures before can attest, it’s sure to be packed with witty rapport backed up by serious knowledge and in-depth appraisals.

From 8pm. More information here.
