Attend a screening of Common Ground – the sequel to award-winning doco Kiss the Ground – at Golden Age Cinema. There’ll be a Q&A with the film’s creators, plus whisky cocktails from Maker’s Mark.

Common Ground is the critically acclaimed sequel to Kiss the Ground, a doco on regenerative agriculture which encouraged governments and individuals to pay more attention to soil health. The new release untangles the complex web of money, power and politics behind our current food system – and offers tangible solutions. With a star-studded cast including Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Donald Glover and more, the film showcases a diverse group of farmers, activists and advocates aiming to reshape our relationship with food and land.

Broadsheet Access members can attend the event for free. Arrive at 3pm, with time to drink and mingle before the screening. Afterwards, catch a Q&A with the film’s creators, and stick around for cocktails and conversation. The event is held in partnership with Maker’s Mark – the first whisky distillery in the world to receive Regenified certification for its agricultural practices – so you can expect inventive cocktails which don’t cost the earth.

Golden Age is an elegant art deco cinema in the heritage-listed Paramount building. After the screening, don’t rush off – just grab a bite at the Hot-Listed wine bar Poly in the same building.
