It's been five years since Matt Moran's Chiswick at The Gallery – the younger, artier sibling of Woollahra restaurant Chiswick – first opened, and it's hosting two birthday events to celebrate.
The cafe-restaurant and Ruinart Champagne are bringing cork and canvas together for two evenings of still-life drawing at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Aspiring artists are invited to create their own masterpiece of Ruinart elements over a glass of bubbles and vistas of Woolloomooloo. Stick around and enjoy spring dinner at the restaurant or peruse the gallery’s Art After Hours series.
Celebrations culminate in a free birthday party on October 27 with kids face-painting, jazz by the Tilly Street Trio and live gardening demonstrations by Chiswick gardener-in-residence Pete Hatfield. A selection of spring snacks designed by head chef Tim Brindley and a build-your-own-spritz bar will also be available.
Tickets include art materials and a glass of champagne. Spots are limited to 30 per session.
Walk-ins to the party are welcome.
