For a limited period in August, long-time fans of Good Ways Deli can get their fix of the off-the-menu chicken waldorf sanga, as well as typically weekend-only vanilla slices, all week long.

There’s nowhere quite like Good Ways Deli to get an Australiana sandwich. The Redfern spot has become a cult favourite for its nostalgic yet refined take on the classic Aussie sanga. Think kangaroo mortadella with provolone and pickles, warrigal greens and ricotta sausage rolls, and lamingtons filled with housemade plum jam all served on bread baked fresh in-house.

For Broadsheet’s Dine Out Festival this August, Good Ways is throwing it back to its early days with the return of a day-one fan favourite: a poached chicken Waldorf sandwich loaded with celery, apple, mayo, walnuts and dressed rocket.

But wait, there is more. Usually reserved for weekends only, its coveted vanilla slices, flaky, custardy and dangerously moreish, will also be available daily during the festival. But be quick: they’ll sell out fast.
