Carriageworks Southeast Aboriginal Arts Market
Each year, Carriageworks becomes home to a large arts market championing contemporary Aboriginal art on Gadigal land. This time it’s back with a twist, allowing shoppers around the country to snap up art pieces.
The market is taking place online over four days, showcasing works by 26 independent Aboriginal artists from Australia’s south-east, including NSW, ACT, Victoria, the Murray-Darling basin and Tasmania.
The works span a range of genres, from fashion, jewellery and textiles to art, ceramics, photography, carvings, paintings and design.
Southeast co-curator and Wiradjuri and Kamilaroi artist Jonathan Jones is also presenting a series of artist talks featuring Kylie Caldwell, Mitch Mahoney, Nannette Shaw, Jamie-Lea Trindall and Kevin “Sooty” Welsh.
All proceeds from art sales will go directly to the artists.
