Kinfolk Butcher Block Party

Sat 22nd June, 2013
6:00pm – 12:00am
The Commune
1/160 Rochford Street, Erskineville

We look forward to Kinfolk’s themed community gatherings every month and this June we’re excited for the Butcher Block Party where we’ll celebrate the long lost art of butchery and have a peek into the lives of our local butcher and fishmonger.

Hosted by Jaclyn Carlson of Blog Society and Lizzie Hewson of the website and imminent cookbook Moving Out, Eating In, it’ll be an evening full of learning, gathering and social festivities with master classes by special guests.

Anthony Puharich from Vic’s Meat will demonstrate various butchery techniques and present all the different cuts of meat while Stefano de Blasi from Salt Meats Cheese gives us the 101 on flavoured salts and a lesson on curing salmon the quick way. Not forgetting French for Foodie’s Rachel Bajada who will be sharing her wealth of knowledge on cheese and showing us how to prepare a beautiful baked camembert with aged black garlic.

A lovely family-style grazing dinner by Tim Brennan from Gallivant Event Catering follows, complete with wine from Two Italian Boys, a salt bar with every flavor you could think of by Salt Meats Cheese and an array of Sonoma’s freshly baked bread.
