Barzaari in Chippendale is doing a brunch menu covering the cuisines of the Eastern Mediterranean, taking in Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria and more. The feast will include two hours of bottomless spritzes designed to match the food.
Brunch starts with a mezze plate, baked eggs and pastourma (cured beef), followed by your choice of rainbow trout with chermoula and green chilli, or spatchcock in vine leaves. Side dishes involve butternut pumpkin and heirloom tomatoes, and the brunch finishes with baklava. The spritzes and cocktails are the Strawberry Royal (strawberry puree, rose water, lime, freeze-dried strawberry and prosecco), the Jerusalem Lemonade (gin, orange blossom, blitzed mint, lemon and soda), and the Bitter Apricot (apricot brandy, Campari, apricot puree, lemon and soda).
If you’ve got nowhere to be afterwards, you can add an extra hour of spritzes for $30, and enjoy three oysters for $12.
Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sunday, from 10.30am to 3pm.
