The Star’s BLACK Bar & Grill is pairing its award-winning steak with black-themed dishes and roving magic performances for a series of theatrical dinners.
Curated by executive chef Dany Karam, the three-course meal begins with salmon sashimi with black radish, lemon, shallot dressing and squid-ink cracker, and pan-fried scallops with black poppy seeds, snap peas and buttermilk dressing. Main is a Blackmarket 180-gram steak with smoked potato, asparagus, charred onion and black pepper sauce; and for dessert there’s macadamia praline parfait with chocolate mousse and caramelised banana.
Choose between Karam’s bespoke offering and the bar menu, which includes oysters with cucumber, smoked creme fraiche and caviar, lobster tail from the charcoal grill with wakame butter, and crab croquette with tarragon and black garlic mayonnaise.
In keeping with the evening’s shadowy inspiration, the cocktail menu will feature a Dark Martini made with Cubaney rum, Mr Black liqueur, Mozart dark chocolate liqueur, espresso, and Demerara sugar garnished with dark chocolate.
Bookings are essential and can be made online.
