The Balvenie Brings Moebius Bar From Milan to Maybe Sammy
Whisky brand The Balvenie has teamed up with two cocktail-bar heavyweights for one night only. On Monday October 23, Maybe Sammy will play host to Milan’s Moebius bar for an evening of cocktails and canapés. The set menu sees four specially crafted drinks served alongside paired snacks (three savoury, one sweet) for $120 per person.
Moebius owner Lorenzo Querci and bar manager Giovanni Allario are heading Down Under to play with local ingredients and offer their spin on classic cocktails using Balvenie’s 14-year-old Caribbean Cask and 12-year-old single-malt Scotch whiskies.
The drinks list includes the Arzac, made with Balvenie Caribbean Cask, Suze, peach black tea, coconut-water-infused mint, and verjus; the Nausicaa, which also stars Balvenie Caribbean Cask alongside grilled pineapple water, verjus and miso syrup; the Baby Godzilla, which mixes Balvenie 12-year-old with both dry and sweet vermouth, Mr Black coffee liqueur, soy-sauce cucumber and a spicy tincture; and to finish, the Hermetic Garage with Balvenie 12-year-old, pear brandy, palo santo and bitters.
Maybe Sammy head chef Elijah Attard is in the kitchen, serving fresh takes on signature bites like a watermelon tartare with bush tomato and a whisky-laced dessert.
