Postponed: Bairro Português
This event has been postponed due to coronavirus concerns.
Petersham is considered Sydney’s Little Portugal, and on Sunday March 15 it’s hosting yet another instalment of Bairro Português – a food and wine fair dedicated to the southern European country.
Get excited for flaky, eggy, cinnamon- and icing sugar-sprinkled tarts by some of Sydney’s best. There’ll also Portuguese barbeque chicken and sangria by local institution Gloria’s, and the recently opened Noi is getting in on the action too. Also on the menu: paella, garlic prawns, churros, crepes and gelati.
This year’s entertainment line-up includes Portuguese and Madeiran concert bands, folk dancing groups and Fado ensembles. Portuguese native Sérgio Rossi is headlining.
You’ll also be able to shop Portuguese homewares and leather goods, and there’ll be workshops centred around pastry rolling, mural painting and screen printing.
